POSKO VISUAL 2023
human emotions
Posko Visual 2023 was an annual design exhibition organized by the 2020 batch of Visual Communication Design students from Universitas Negeri Malang.
This year, Posko Visual adopted the theme “Human Emotions”. Human emotions refer to specific feelings and thoughts, a biological and psychological state, and a series of tendencies to act (Goleman, 2015: 409).
Human emotions are divided into two categories: positive emotions, which consist of (1) Joy and (2) Relief, and negative emotions, which include (1) Anger, (2) Fear, (3) Anxiety, and (4) Disgust. These emotions are companions to humans throughout life, making them feel alive.
The wide range of emotions experienced by humans has a significant influence on each individual’s life, as everyone is free to express, release, and channel their emotions into creative ideas through the poster works that were exhibited at Posko Visual 2023: Human Emotions.
The “Human Emotions” exhibition was intended to make Posko Visual 2023 a memorable event, offering inspiration, benefits, and experiences to all participants. The theme was tied to the artworks on display, with the aim of allowing creators and audiences alike to express their current emotions or those they wish to communicate, while integrating creativity into the process.
This theme was chosen to express the feelings and emotions experienced by each person in their creative process, to remind us that all humans have empathy and sympathy toward the emotions felt by one another, and to raise awareness about emotional consciousness through visual communication design.
Posko Visual 2023 was open to anyone wishing to channel their creativity and join the conversation on mental health.
The exhibition took place at the 5th floor of Malang Creative Center from October 6th to 8th, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM WIB.
