POSKO VISUAL 2019
Art design connection

Posko Visual 2019 was an event organized by the students of the Visual Communication Design program at Universitas Negeri Malang, Class of 2016. The annual design exhibition showcased by the Visual Communication Design students featured the theme "Art Design Connection."

The term "ART DE CO" was chosen because it could represent applied art solutions to build connections between designers and society, fostering a relationship that is free and boundless. The graphic designer profession, often undervalued by society in Indonesia, was a significant reason for selecting the theme "Art De Co."

This edition of Posko Visual highlighted a multicultural concept by symbolizing the distinctive colors from various regions in Indonesia. Light green was taken from the Javanese Keraton, dark green from Papua's cultural artifacts, pink from the Chinese culture in Sumatra, deep red from Toraja cloth in Sulawesi, yellow from daily life in Bali, and pastel red from the Dayak batik in Kalimantan. In addition to color, the visual elements also reflected the multiculturalism of different regions, featuring patterns such as parang from Java, scratch carvings from Papua, Palembang weaving from Sumatra, Pa’barana’ from Sulawesi, beach waves from Bali, and the hornbill bird's beak from Kalimantan.

Pipo was the mascot of Posko Visual 2019. Pipo was inspired by various traditional clothing from different regions in Indonesia, combined into one design.

Posko Visual 2019 was held at Taman Krida Budaya Malang on December 17, 18, and 19, 2019.
